Fireworks, Hunters and Guns

First of all, Happy 4th of July to my America Hunters out there, today I want to take a moment touch on a subject that I haven’t spoken about before. Given that I’m by heart a bow users in the game, I want to talk about the new legendary weapon that us Hunters are going to be getting in Mist of Pandaria.

Coming in Mist of Pandaria, a new Legendary quest chain will be open to any and all players able to start it. I’m guessing the quest chain itself will start with a drop from one of the bosses in the new raids. This quest will take you through a series of other quests, my guess is more raid drops to be collected. By design this is kind of boring. It can be even worst if the raids are boring.

In any case once you collect everything that the quest requires, a turn in all the quests reaching the end of the chain you get your legendary item. The Breath of the Black Prince, the first ever Legendary that will be open to any class.

To be honest I think it’s a great idea and cool, the problem I have with the legendary item like this is pretty much makes it one of those items that the normal WoW player will never get his hands on. I know if I stay in my current guild, I myself personally will never get it a chance to ever do the chain. Why? Simply because the guild leader is a hunter and what more one of the prime officers is also a hunter.

But there are also other people in the guild who raid more than I do and have been in the guild far longer. How does one choose who gets something? That’s hard to tell, and the fact Legendary are always PVE bound really pisses me off. Why? Because as everyone know right now in Cata, every rogue wants to use the legendary daggers which are 100% better than any other weapon they could use (including the PVP ones).

This is supposed to change in Mist of Pandaria, where PVE gear isn’t suppose to be worth much in PVP. Which is fine by me if they make it where this Legendary isn’t that powerful in PVE. Personally I be pissed off if I got a Legendary and I only ever hit scripted raid bosses with it.

While I think it’s a great idea as I said to make an item that’s more open and not so limited, Blizzard has also made this one a bit too hard to freaking get. I get they aren’t very happy about the fact every caster under the sun was able to get the Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest. But this new one is supposed to take more than one raid tier to get?

I read some things that have stated that the quests items needed will be like the AQ40 epics where anyone could loot them and collect the raid materials, just they will be very rare removing the whole guilds have to choose who gets it. Another fact about the item is we really don’t know what the item will end up giving you at the end, which my guess would be at the end of the last tier of mist.

New icons for a legendary axe, fist, gun, dagger, mace, shield, staff and sword have been datamined in a patch a few months back. But as far as I know nothing else has come out officially about it yet. Only time can tell. I know many hunters are thrilled that it’s going to be a gun. Which is great, but I feel that is kind of locking in those people who don’t like guns to have to try to get this. Don’t get me wrong, there are some pretty cool gun models in the game, just nothing compares to the awesome Rhok’delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers.

    1. Which is true, I’ll agree with you with that. If you don’t care of a gun, you can always mog it. BUT to my understanding Legendary items can’t be the target of a tranmog. Meaning that you wont be able to transmog the new gun into a bow or crossbow. That is unless I’m missing something on that. I know you can’t transmog current weapons to look like past Legendary weapons, but I was under the impression that you can’t transmog legendary weapons to look like another weapon either.

    1. To be honest I’m not 100% sure about that. I know they say you can’t make the current 2-hand swords look like Thunderfury for example. I’ve never tried to put on Thunderfury and then try to transmog it to make it look like something else. I’m sure it’s in the blue post about transmog rules that they put out months ago. I’d have to find it to be sure.
